The Missouri Library Association announces the winner of the 2019 Missouri Building Block Picture Book Award!
The children of Missouri have spoken, selecting Can I Be Your Dog by Troy Cummings as the winner! About 22, 000 preschool and kindergarten voters participated this year.
The top five books and the number of votes are listed below.

- Cookiesaurus Rex by Amy Fellner Dominy; Illus. by Nate Evans—3,719 votes
- I Just Ate My Friend by Heidi McKinnon– 2,802 votes
- Beware Of The Monster by Michael Escoffier; Illus. by Amandine Piu–2,347 votes
- Where Is Bear by Jonathan Bentley–1882 votes
