MASL would like to thank our dedicated reader/selectors for reading and providing feedback on the preliminary titles in order to narrow the Readers Awards lists to these final nominees.
Missouri students who read the required number of titles for a specific award will be able to vote on these final nominees in March 2026. The winners of each Readers Award will be announced at the 2026 MASL Spring Conference.
Again, we want to congratulate the authors, illustrators and publishers of the nominated titles and ask our members to encourage their students to read and vote on these amazing books!
As a reminder, the Denny O’Neil Graphic Novel List and Dogwood Non-Fiction List are recommended reading lists, and there is not a voting component to either of these lists.
Committees composed of highly qualified and trained librarians choose developmentally appropriate titles for MASL Readers Award and Readers Lists based on professional judgment, notable book review sources and publisher information. Even so, every librarian has a professional responsibility to make thoughtful decisions about all books selected for their library to ensure they curate collections that align with their district’s policies and the needs of their school community.
