About the Dogwood Readers Award
The Winner of the annual Dogwood Readers Award is selected by students in grades PreK-12.
The vision of the Missouri Dogwood Outstanding Nonfiction Committee is to provide children of Missouri with a recommended reading list of nonfiction titles that will interest them and enrich their lives. As librarians, we also want to recognize and honor outstanding works in children’s nonfiction.
Criteria for Dogwood nominees is as follows:
- Books will be of interest to a range of readers in grades PreK-12
- Books will connect young readers in Missouri with quality non-fiction books that will broaden their knowledge of the world and enrich their reading experiences.
- Author may be from any country
