Nominated Titles & Reading Lists
Every year, MASL’s Readers Award Committees work to create a preliminary list of titles that are read and voted upon by groups of Reader/Selectors to create the final list of nominees. Titles on the final list are then read and voted upon by students across Missouri to determine the recipients of the MASL Readers Awards.
Summer Reading Lists
Over the summer months, our Readers Awards Committees are busy reading recommended and self-selected titles fitting their committee’s criteria. Members and students are welcome to join in the fun.

Readers Awards Preliminary Nominees
In early August, each of the Readers Awards Committees narrows their reading lists to 20-25 titles to create the Preliminary Nominees list for the upcoming year. During the following months, librarian and student Reader/Selectors read and rate these titles, further narrowing the lists.

Readers Awards Final Nominees
The narrowed lists of titles, known as Final Nominees or Master List, are announced each January. The books will be promoted by school librarians and read by Missouri students during the upcoming school year.
2024-2025 Readers Awards Final Nominees – announced January 2024 and will be voted on in March 2025.
2025-2026 Readers Awards Final Nominees – announced January 2025 and will be voted on in March 2026.
2026-2027 Readers Awards Final Nominees – announced January 2026 and will be voted on in March 2027.
