2021 MASL Spring Conference Update

School Librarians:

We hope everyone is having a great start to 2021!

We have been receiving many questions regarding Spring Conference, which is scheduled for April 18-20.  Just this week, the decision was made to move the conference to a fully virtual offering, and cancel the in-person component.  We had more than 300 members respond to our survey with options for this year’s event and the overwhelming response was to move the event to a strictly virtual platform due to concerns regarding COVID-19.  We are disappointed that we won’t be meeting in person, but VERY excited about the opportunity of offering a virtual conference for all school librarians!

The conference will still be held on April 18-20!  Throughout the conference, we will be offering Professional Development, Author Events, Keynote Speakers, Networking Opportunities, as well as announcing winners of each of the Readers Awards!  Soon we will have additional information regarding the schedule of events and how the virtual platform will work.  Please note that many of the sessions will also be offered on-demand following the conference for those that are unable to participate live.  Stay tuned as we finalize these details.

A couple of initial notes:

  1. If you already registered for the 2021 Spring Conference and/or have a remaining credit from the cancelled 2020 Spring Conference, we will reach out to you directly regarding your registration fees.
  2. If you already made your lodging reservations at the resort, these will be cancelled automatically.  Unless you want to keep your reservation, there is no need to contact Tan-Tar-A.
  3. If you submitted a workshop proposal form for the conference, we will be in touch within the next 1-2 weeks regarding the status of your proposal.
  4. Registration (at a reduced rate!) is now open at www.maslonline.org – (https://bit.ly/2XWP9eF).
