2020 Spring Conference – Postponed
After careful consideration, the MASL Executive Council and Spring Conference Committee Co-Chairs have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 Spring Conference scheduled to take place April 19-21.
The new dates will be August 9-11, 2020, at the Tan-Tar-A Conference Center. Registration will re-open in early June 2020.
Our decision to postpone this annual event was not taken lightly. MASL has been closely monitoring updates and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as state and local governments. The health, safety and well-being of our attendees is of paramount importance.
Below are some initial pieces of information. Please note that decisions and conversations are occurring on a regular basis, and we will continue to keep the membership apprised of these decisions via social media, email and our website. Also, watch for a FAQ section on the MASL website coming soon. For any questions about registration, please submit them here. We will work to provide information about all other aspects of the conference as soon as possible and appreciate your patience with us as we explore our options and put a plan in place.
Registration Fees
Below are the options regarding your registration fees (deadline is May 1).
- Apply your MASL 2020 Spring Conference Registration Fee to attend the Conference on August 8-11. Please note the plan is for the schedule to remain the same though these details are in the process of being confirmed.
- Request a refund. 100 percent of your registration fee is refundable.
Please note that all requests regarding your registration fees, whether transferring or refunding, must be submitted via this Google Form by May 1. Requests will not be accepted via phone or email. If a response is not received by May 1, MASL will keep your registration fee as a donation to the association.
Lodging Reservations
Based on conversations with Tan-Tar-A, all room reservations for the originally scheduled April Spring Conference dates will be automatically cancelled by the resort. You do not need to contact the resort to cancel your reservation. However, if you plan to join us in August, please contact the resort and request the new August dates. The conference will officially kick off on Sunday, August 9, and conclude on Tuesday, August 11. For any Purchase Orders submitted for lodging at Tan-Tar-A, these will all be voided by TTA since the dates no longer apply. We will update members when they can begin making reservation at Tan-Tar-A for August.
We are currently working and living in unprecedented times and we appreciate everyone’s willingness to remain positive and flexible as MASL continues to work on providing quality professional development to our members. We believe postponing the event, rather than canceling, is in the best interest of the association. If the event were to be canceled, the association would incur a loss of nearly $250,000 due to cancellation fees with the resort and lost revenue from registrations.
We look forward to seeing you at our Spring, turned Summer, Conference on August 9-11 at the Tan-Tar-A Conference Center.
