MASL Caring/Sharing Weeded Book Program

Missouri professional school librarians utilize the school library budget to select relevant and timely resources for the education of students across the state.  However, because of huge discrepancies in library budgets, many Missouri students have limited access to a quality collection of books.

Therefore, MASL is initiating the Caring/Sharing Weeded Book Program to support our school libraries across the state. School librarians are asked to thoughtfully weed their collection and set aside useful materials that would still be relevant and timely for underprivileged Missouri school libraries.  Please follow your district policies to acquire donatable materials.

Materials will be collected and distributed at our Spring Conference scheduled for April 19-21, 2020 or by direct connection between librarians.  School librarians who feel they could benefit from acquiring these materials or who could supply useful materials may reach out to the MASL office for more information or plan to participate in April.  To contact the MASL office, please email info@maslonline.org.
